Future Plan's

I have been mulling an idea around in the old noggin for a couple of weeks, as to becoming somewhat of an ersatz embed interveiwer of military and civilian deployee's while I am in the sandbox.

A man on the street kind of thing.

What say you?

Sounds like a great idea as long as the "man on the street" keeps himself on the safe side of said street.

Your style of writing is very appealing, but with your Military experience you would be able to bring a unique perspective to such posts and would have the Troops feel that you were someone to whom they would feel comfortable speaking.

Veritas et Fidelis Semper

P.S. Please tell me you're not planning to add chief cook and bottle-washer to your list of duties over there....you're not, right........right?

What Deborah said! All of it! No matter what extracurricular things you pursue over there, be safe above all else.

Safety is and always will be a top priorty for me.

I think this is the first war where we have to follow the dictates of OSHA.

Once I get a year in country, I can transfer to another job within the company, and one of those jobs is Safety Officer/Inspector, who's duties consist mainly of writing up accident/incident reports,at about a 50% pay increase. Dreadfully boring, but SAFE!

Several other's are Cargo handler,Dispatcher,Mail clerk,MWR attendant,Billiting manager, Carpenter,Mechanic of various types,Plumber,HVAC,HR, Finance,Buyer,Contract manager,Food service,ect...

Hey,even Mayor of The FOB, that a buddie of mine got the last time I was there. I don't think he liked it all that much though.

The possibilities are endless!

Heck, I enjoy talking to people and we have a LOT of standing around time, after our mission briefing, before we load up and head for the gate.

You'd certainly be in a position to provide a perspective that not many people hear nowadays.

Mayor Unakwill!

I think that's a great idea... as long as it ain't Don Knotts! You be careful with your civilian choices, though.

Hmmm...I wonder if they hire old ladies?

Plenty of seasoned citizens doing thier all for Uncle Sam and the Troops in the sandbox. google KBRjobs.com for a list of job openings.

I am sure you will be welcomed and valued for whatever talents you can bring to the theater.
